Until tonight I didn't even realize it was March Madness season. Yes, I knew it is March. I just don't focus on anything but esports. #edtechchat
So many students don't know how to analyze text for themselves. Relying on AI will only weaken these skills. Much like using a calculator before you understand arithmetic can keep a person from learning higher level math. The underlying learning is key to advancing. #edtechchat
A4: We have to first understand that true learning is more about the individual and less about the subject. Learning is a deeper understanding. Content creation doesn't have to have any substance to go viral. #edtechchat
School was about a collective knowledge base. There is a true need for our citizens to have a basic understanding of the world around them. Hopefully, some of them even begin to realize that true learning is up to the individual, not the school/teacher/college. #edtechchat
Even when I was in school, I don't think school was truly about learning. The learning happened outside of school. #edtechchat
A3: We change the type of activities. We have to ask the higher order questions. Support our students as they dig deeper. Most of us have never experienced true learning. It's not so easy. A person must be dedicated to doing the work of learning. #edtechchat
A2: Learning is often messy. Not necessarily on paper, but in the mind. Putting the pieces together so they make sense often starts with just a pile of information.
