Responsibility and discipline are inseparable.

There is no way to raise responsibility without elevating discipline. There is no way to elevate discipine without raising responsibility.

Low discipline is a lack of responsibility.

Excellence can come from two sources:

1. Your nature that is already within you.

2. The skills you build into yourself.

So many people spend their lives investing in the second source while failing to recognize, appreciate, cultivate, or activate the first.

Itโ€™s a coachโ€™s responsibility to serve players, not a playerโ€™s responsibility to serve coaches.

That is the principle priority of any coachโ€™s job: SERVE YOUR PLAYERS.

โ€œI've never played on a championship team that didn't pay attention to detail.
There's no if, ands, or buts about it.

Standards Matter.

Standards are about โ€œhowโ€ you do things.

- How you practice
- How you compete
- How you show up

UCONNs standards are why they win.

Steve Nash said, 'You'll never be more alive than when you give something everything you have.'

'It's the striving, fighting, pushing yourself to the limit every day that you'll miss.'

โ€ข It means hard work.
โ€ข It means consistency.
โ€ข It means commitment.

โ€œItโ€™s exciting when you win and itโ€™s exciting when you lose because the process should be exactly the same whether you win or lose. You go back and find things that you could have done better. The hardest thing is to face that stuff. Itโ€™s a really tough challenge,โ€ Kobe Bryant
