One of the things I love about book fairs is you never know what you'll find. This morning, amongst other things, it was this: the rare first UK hardback edition from 1954, in great condition. Contrast the positively risque front cover to that on the first US edition (pic 3).

A spring/summer scene that hasn't changed much since I was a boy: the jingle of an icecream van luring people out of their homes to buy ice creams and ice lollies. Mine was usually a 99 (chocolate flake in an icecream cone) or an icecream cone with raspberry sauce. 🍦🤤

I appreciate getting updates on here but I miss the excitement of watching live coverage. Between work and being a carer I have little time for TV. And subscribing to Sky Sports or whoever offers live coverage in the UK now would be throwing money away: I'd hardly ever watch it.

I watched Raducanu's match yesterday. She played well and showed resilience. Missed today's matches but she obviously backed it up with more of the same today. 🙌
