In today's Nutrition Month edition of #KHSFeatureFriday we are highlighting PhD candidate Safura Syed.
Safura Syed, MSc, RD, PhD(c) is a nutrition #KHSGradStudent in the Aging, Health and Well-being program. Her dissertation studies culturally inclusive menu planning in long term care homes.
Tara Kuhn UW Brain and Body Lab Tara is a current holder of the Alzheimer Society of Canada Research Program Doctoral Award (2022-2025). She is also a co-chair for both Symposium on Aging Research (SoAR), and the Waterloo Aging Network for Trainees (WANT).
In her spare time, Tara enjoys skating, board-games, and rock-climbing.
Tara Kuhn UW Brain and Body Lab Being active is key in dementia care, but it is more difficult during the winter. Tara's study interviews persons with dementia and caregivers to understand how they can be supported to be more active during winter. This will be used to inform future exercise interventions.

Tara Kuhn is a PhD Candidate UWaterloo Kinesiology and Health Sciences. Her research looks at how lifestyle factors promote health in aging population. Her thesis will look at promoting sleep in persons living w/ dementia. When she isn't doing research, Tara is reaching new heights while rock-climbing.
