My son and I were interviewed by the news after graduation tonight, because I was able to present the memorial scholarship for his dad, as well as his diploma to him. It’s so weird watching myself on TV. What an emotional night!

If you’ve been following my tweets, you know a student passed away, and 2 days later a tornado flattened half the town. Last night a hail storm broke every windshield on the grieving family’s cars. Today at the graveside, the hole caved in, so they couldn’t put him in.

8th grade state math test is 60 questions taken over two sessions. 8th grade semester test for material covered in one semester? 100 questions to be done in one 60 min session…

And no one should ever have to attend a funeral for a 15 y/o bc some drunk twat is too proud to let said sober 15 y/o drive them home. Watching my son and his teammates grieve the loss of their friend was too much. 😭

If you’re the praying type, please send prayers. I just got word that two of my students were in a serious car accident and there’s officially a fatality. I’ve never lost a current student. We graduate 30 kids a year. My community is small and close. My heart is broken.

Unpopular opinion, but the older I get, the more I realize the amount of useless crap we make our kids learn in school. We need to be fostering interests earlier instead of making kids take a “well rounded” curriculum. No, I’m not talking elementary.

The plot thickens on my principal’s position being absorbed. She was told this plan back in March, but was told not to tell anyone. Now people are finding out, and both parents and students are pissed!

My son threw me under the bus. He told his English class that the only class I cared about was history. That’s not exactly how it went. I said, “I need you to focus on history bc it goes on your HS transcript. I need you to pass the others so we can be done with this school.” 🤷🏼‍♀️
