Nurse Ashley πŸ’πŸΌβ€β™€οΈβœ¨ Yup!
Its:
-8h for fatty meals (cheeseburger)
-6h for light meals (toast, cereal)
-2h for clears (water, black coffee)

Some places make pt NPO after midnight so they can call them in early if there is a cancellation (again, convenient for everyone but pt)

FWIW, modern academic neuro & neurosurg could not function without APPs. We have a shortage of docs in both fields, even more so in pediatrics, making APPs essential for getting patients seen. I'm glad to work with awesome NPs & PAs in both fields.

It’s really sad to see how early the anti-APP indoctrination begins (medical school). A PGY-0 is already opining on how the entire NP profession shouldn’t exist.

When I was a fourth year resident, I worked with an amazing NP on my trauma rotation. She was not only excellent at doing her job, but she also helped set up the residents for success. We could not have managed the service as well without her. Also she’s just an amazing person.
