I really enjoyed being at today's cultural drama staged at St Barnabas church hall in Lodge Road by Southampton's burgeoning Goan Community. Fantastic show. Well done cast, band, crew and organising team Diago George and Vincent Carvalho.

Great honour and privilege to say a fond farewell to this chap - Bill Street - earlier today after an amazing 57 years loyal service to the City Council. Enjoy your retirement, Bill.

Greatly honoured today to lay flowers at the memorial plaque for the Basque children fleeing Nazi/Fascist persecution in 1937. Today marks the date when Southampton citizens opened their hearts to admit 4,000 refugee Basque children - defying the local and national politicians.

Some really fab Green Social Prescribing showcases on display earlier at Southampton University's James Matthews building including: City Farm, Community Roots, Plants for People and Drawing on the Outside.

Great day out last Sunday at the South Indian Food Festival at Lords Hill Oasis Academy. Over 1500 tickets sold and the food was lovely. Great fashion shows too.

The Blessing of the Solent waters ceremony is complete for another year. Sea Shanties and music serenaded the importance of the Solent to Southampton. A big thank you to all who participated on board SS Shieldhall including the Southampton Sea cadets.
