#Alzheimers is a devastating disease. It's taken my only best friend. The woman who raised me, The only one irl who understood my feelings & mission of rescuing senior & special needs dogs. The only one who showed empathy & cared abt the pain each loss brought. Miss it so much.

Today last yr we were bringing Malta home frm amputation surgery. She's also had chemo & the Yale vaccine that's given some dog's yrs remission. She's had 13mnths & doing great! She's our 9th senior to battle cancer & our longest survivor despite it's highly aggressive nature.

7am today last year. The last video we'd ever have with Malta (front) having all 4 leg's. We were preparing to leave & drop her off for amputation surgery. We were so nervous & worried but we knew it was the best decision. 13mnths later & we're so glad we chose to do it.

Today last yr was Malta's last having 4 leg's. Tomorrow will mark 1 yr since her leg/shoulder amputation due to osteosarcoma. We were a nervous wreck but relieved her pain would stop after recovery. It's been nearly 13mnths since diagnosis. Thankfully much more than expected.
