This Weasel came into us when he was found being attacked by birds. Our veterinary team checked him over & fortunately he hadn’t sustained any injuries & was described as “very feisty!” (A good thing in wild animals). Luckily, we were able to re-release him back into the wild.

Have you ever seen a Toad have an ultrasound? Well now you have! This toad came into us when she was found with a very swollen stomach. Our Vet, Steve, carried out an ultrasound & found it was excess fluid. He was able to extract the fluid & she's making a good recovery here.

This kestrel came in with an injured wing. Our veterinary team have provided her with the treatment she needed, including regular physio & she’s almost ready to go back to the wild. She'll spend some time in our outside aviaries so we can monitor her flying & then be released.

This hedgehog was stuck in a glue trap. England has officially passed the Glue Traps (Offences) Act, banning their use & the ban comes into effect in April 2024, but it's important they stop being used now as they're fatal to wildlife. Luckily, we were able to remove the glue.

This long-eared bat came into us with severe tears in his wing membranes. Our Vet, Steve, carried out a very delicate operation; helped by the use of his surgical loupes that magnify & illuminate his work, Steve was able to suture the membranes closed.

We recently had 4 juvenile barn owls brought in when their nest was damaged. They've been checked over for injuries & fortunately are okay. The smallest of the 4 was a bit weak so is spending time in our bird nursery to be fed regularly & monitored more closely before release.

This fox was brought in when she was found very thin, weak, & dehydrated in someone’s garden. Our veterinary team immediately started her on fluids & provided her with food & she is already doing much better. She'll stay with us for a bit more rest & then will be released.

When the nights start to get darker, we see a significant rise in the number of deer brought in due to road traffic accidents. Deer are crepuscular animals, meaning they are active primarily at dawn & dusk. Please be extra careful driving at these times & reduce your speed.

Happy national badger day! This is a photo of 2 of our recent badger patients who came in separately but have formed a close bond during their time here, becoming inseparable and helping each other during their recovery. Sometimes friendship is the best medicine!

This toad came in with a wound on his back & leg. As toads absorb moisture through their skin, one of the most commonly used method of treatments is to immerse the patient in a solution containing antibiotics & pain relief. This method is working well & he's already improving.

Hedgehogs can go into hibernation as late as Dec & Jan, so it's okay to see little ones now. They need to be 600g + to hibernate so you can help by providing plenty of dog food to fatten them up ahead of winter. If you're unsure, please call us on 01844 292292 & we can advise.

This great crested newt was found cold & away from water. We relocated her to a safe environment, where other newts are living. Strictly protected it is an offence to kill or injure them or destroy their habitat. The pattern on their stomach is as unique as a human fingerprint.
