#HistFicMay Day 2!
I write #HistoricalFiction which is grounded on truth but sits on the edge of reality. I am especially drawn to beliefs and superstitions of an age, and my stories reflect that.
My characters tell me their stories, I just write them down!

#HistFicMay - day 2 - I have 2 series, The Tudor Court, set in 16th century England, and Ava & Claire, set in 1930s Pennsylvania. Currently 3 books each, but Tudor #4 is due out on June 15.
My books are really about relationships and how messy people are in any era.
#HistFicMay Day 2: Introduce your writing.
The Williamson Papers (amazon.co.uk/dp/B093114XLV) are set in the mid-19th century and explore the Age of Empire.
The second series features the spy James Burke, and his adventures during the Napoleonic Wars (amazon.co.uk/dp/B08T8CGPTD).

Don't trust self-published books because they don't have the stamp of approval from mainstream publishers? Take a look at some of the judgements mainstream publishers make and ask yourself if you really trust them. Then try a few self-published novels.

So how do you manoeuvre a square-rigged ship when there is no wind? You can tow yourself from the ship's boats or pull yourself along using the anchor chains, but both approaches are slow and limited. Or, in the 18th century, you might just deploy your oars.

I'd never heard of the Exeter Exchange (it was demolished in 1829) but it sounds fascinating. Thanks to Sarah Murden for drawing it to my attention.
