Like so many around Chicagoland today, I’m thinking about my longtime friend, Lin Brehmer. No one did more for music and the people of Chicago than Lin. I will miss him very much and I send along my sympathies to his wife and son.

I am incredibly grateful to the people of Cook County for allowing me to continue to serve as their Sheriff. My office will continue to fight violent crime and work tirelessly to improve public safety.

Grateful that Fran Hurley, Senator Bill Cunningham, & Rep. Kelly Burke took the time today to meet with Fight Crime member & Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart. Our discussion centered on #earlychildhood & #afterschool policies that can improve #publicsafety in Illinois. #twill

I’m grateful that Governor JB Pritzker understood the need for this legislation that we proposed last year as our police were finding an increasing number of these weapons being used on the streets so that criminals could avoid accountability.
