400m of new fencing has been installed by the team at Sharkham this week, ready for our livestock to be grazed here.

After the high winds last week, the team has been out clearing fallen trees from the footpaths, helping to keep your favourite walks open across the bay.

Our ranger team cares for over 40 miles of footpath right across Torbay. This week the team has been out fixing a collapsed section of boardwalk in the Cockington Water Meadows. This is a beautiful walk through meadows and woodland, connecting Cockington to the coast.

The latest bat count at Berry Head has confirmed we have over 100+ bats living there - the highest number since 2005!

We are thrilled to announce that Cockington Country Park has been awarded the GreenFlagAward for 27 years in a row!

This quality mark for parks is a testament to the hard work and dedication put in by the team. A huge thank you to all the staff and volunteers who work here.

A new bench has been installed at Conqueror Wood by the ranger team.

The National Whale & Dolphin Watch will be taking place across the country next week.

Join us at Berry Head between 7am & 5pm from Monday 31st July until Friday 4th August to be involved in the watch. No need to book - just turn up at the end of the headland.

A fantastic recent find at Berry Head! This is a Large Scabious Mining Bee, which hasn't been spotted in Torbay in recent years. This one was spotted and very kindly shared with us by Bill Coulson.

A new field gate and kissing gate have been installed by the ranger team in the top orchard at Cockington this week. They have also been cutting back the bracken to prevent it from spreading in the orchard.

We are very sad to report that our sheep have been chased by a dog again in Cockington. This led to two lambs jumping out of their field and to one losing its life.

Please keep dogs under close control at all times around livestock.

961 individual moths, which included 134 different species, were counted on a recent study carried out by members of the Devon Moth Group at Berry Head!

Although we don’t often see their hard work under the cover of darkness, moths are very good pollinators.

A huge thank you to PKF-Francis Clark Torquay who spent one of their volunteering days helping us with a litter pick at Hope's Nose.

It was a great team effort and 15 bags of rubbish were removed from the headland.
