'The Catwalk' is half absolutely excellent, and another half fairly routine, well executed action. The first half of the episode is chock-full of great ideas and memorable moments. The back half is solid but loses some of the unique charm of the opening.

The blow of 'Star Trek: Nemesis' as a pseudo #TNG finale is reduced by the existence of #StarTrekPicard , but that doesn't make it a better film. There are nice moments and some excellent action, but on balance it's joyless, off-key and even mean spirited.

'Singularity' is a quintessentially middle of the pack for me. It's crafted to give the entire cast fun things to do, and it's built on unique qualities making it distinctive. However, I don't think it hits the necessary gear to become a truly smooth ride.

'The Communicator' isn't nearly as effective as 'Dear Doctor', but it does serve much the same purpose as a proto-Prime Directive cautionary tale. It's completely on point in terms of the target #Enterprise aims to hit, but a bit redundant in execution.

'The Seventh' does a nice job continuing to push the ball downfield with T'Pol and Archer's ever evolving relationship. Some decent backstory is touched upon but not really satisfyingly explored. The strong performances are the strongest asset in my view.

'A Night in Sickbay' gets credit for being audacious with an outside the box, fresh structure, and for taking bold comedic swings. The batting average for the humor runs a little low for my taste, and the characterization of Archer goes too far for me.

'Minefield' gets major points for tremendous production values, ably selling the bulk of the episode taking place on the hull of the ship. The insights into Reed's backstory and mentality aren't groundbreaking, but the key performances are excellent.

Quick non-Star Trek tweet. #CHALLENGERS is absolutely fucking fantastic. A 130-minute example of the kind of thing that makes movies my favorite thing in the world. Smart, cutting, sexy, funny, innovative, thrilling filmmaking. It's quite simply, the goods in every way. Trust me!
