Last week I volunteered on Mattie Child’s beautiful garden at the Hampton Court Flower Festival. I smiled all day long as I lugged gravel around & popped the odd plant in. Now the garden has won gold & best in show. Good stuff happens. #lovegardening

My poor sweet peas after Eunice ripped apart the polytunnel, deposited one of our trees on the neighbour’s car, terminally relocated 4 other trees & smashed the greenhouse glass. Eunice means ‘good victory’. Hmmmmm.

After yet another Twitter hiatus I’m just popping in to say writing is on the back burner atm. I’m on an incredibly intense garden design diploma at the amazing KlC school of Design London. It consumes every waking (& sleeping) moment but I’m loving it.

Thank god for books.

Why do nightmares stay right in the front of your mind in every lurid detail whilst other dreams slip away like grains of sand, no matter how hard to try to hold on to them? (1am. Nightmare. Thank goodness for Twitter).

Off to the big city to the theatre tomorrow. Only got sleet, tube strikes, Covid passes, climate protestors & getting my my elderly parents through London to worry about before the curtain goes up. It’ll be a blast!

Theme music to Succession. If I hear it out of the blue ten years from now it will give me goosebumps. Which others will have that effect, I wonder?

Definitely getting old & grumpy. It’s getting harder to resist making facetious comments about carelessness when I get emails from clothing companies saying they are, ‘dropping a new line.’

Today is the day I start writing again.

In a gloomy, grey weekend where the sun barely made an appearance, it was such a joy to read #everythingisbeautiful by Eleanor Ray. Not much got done around here from the moment I started reading it!

We still miss Koshka very much but Myshka & Katya are now fully entrenched in the family and are exceedingly naughty.

Just driven up the M1. If anyone wants to know where all the lorry drivers are, roughly 10 million of them are there.
