If you want graduates to be 'high earners' then pay high wages across all sectors. If you want students to be debt-free then abolish tuition fees in HE. Let students decide what they want to study. 'Free market' of ideas and all that, right?

Not only should UCU vocally oppose increased visa fees, but also add to its list of demands that all unis commit to reimbursing all visa costs for all international workers including PhDs on Tier 4 visas. It's a scandal that this is not standard practice in the sector.
