The last mentoring shout-out of the year goes to Sam Wolff, PhD. An alum of UNC Neuroscience Center, Dr. Wolff is an Assistant Professor in the Purvis Lab, UNC Genetics PhD, and the UNC Computational Medicine Program. Of his many skills, Dr. Wolff is a patient and encouraging mentor.
Leading our last week of mentoring shout-outs is Erin Steinbach, Assistant Professor UNC Department of Medicine. Dr. Steinbach was nominated for being a role model and a dependable support for mentees.
To round out the week, we're honoring the mentorship of Wolfgang Lab of UNC Microbiology and Immunology Department and the Marsico Lung Institute. Dr. Wolfgang received a shout-out for coaching students through their projects and their career goals.
A big mentoring shout-out to Dr. Elizabeth Gurysh, Research Scientist in Pharmacoengineering & Mol Pharmaceutics (DPMP UNC). Her nominator wanted to celebrate how she shows mentees how to both do great science and fulfill personal goals.
Today's mentoring shout-out is for Dr. Jeremy Cohen, Senior Research Scientist UNC Neuroscience Center. His mentees appreciate his continued guidance through every stage of their projects.
A big congrats to Sandra Zarmer, PhD Student in UNC Pharmacology for being a role model to her mentees!

A big shout-out today for Ian McCabe! Ian is a PhD student in Cell Biology and Physiology at UNC, and his nominator described him as a 'fearless' scientist when it comes to new techniques.
Our next mentoring shout-out is for Prof. Laura Raffield in UNC Genetics PhD. Dr. Raffield was nominated for coaching mentees through managing their projects and priorities.
The mentoring skills of Cole Martin cannot be eclipsed. This PhD Candidate in UNC Pharmacology is receiving today's shoutout for his ability to help mentees feel like they're active contributors to research.
