This weekend, the ƛusmit(herring) spawned in parts of the Southern & Central Nuu-chah-nulth Regions. Our Southern Region Biologist, Huu-yik, Sabrina Crowley, was in Barkley Sound, collecting biosamples using the cast net method.

Today, on Day One of the Nuu-chah-nulth Council of Ha'wiih Forum on Fisheries, Uu-a-thluk's Dani & Irine solidified the final 2 outstanding aspects of the 2024-2029 Strategic Plan.

Our 5-year plan will focus on Access, Management, Capacity Building & Organizational Development.

Nuu-chah-nulth Nations are meeting Fisheries and Oceans today to discuss the Nations' restoration priorities.

The Nations made it clear that there is no one particular species that is a priority. All species are #interconnected , therefore they are all important.
