Just a reminder that even though Britain passed the Act to abolish the trafficking in Africans on March 25, 1807, there is evidence that the trafficking did not end in 1807. EG, approx. 6, 453 Africans arrived on 32 slavers in various CARICOM countries in 1808.

On this UN International Day in memory of the victims of the trafficking & chattelization of Africans, let us repeat calls for reparatory justice from the perpetrators. March 25 1807 was a historic day; but the legacies of the horror that made it necessary remain unaddressed.
