Gough did so much to build a fairer, smarter, and more vibrant Australia. He was our hero - and he always will be.

Today, the Robodebt Royal Commission has handed down its report.

Robodebt destroyed lives. It never should’ve happened, and it must never happen again.

More than half of all Indigenous Australians are under the age of 25.

But our young people don’t start on a level playing field.

They need hope.

They need opportunities their parents and Elders didn’t have.

They need a Voice.

Last week, we lost Labor hero Simon Crean.

Simon was integral to Australian politics & industrial relations for over 40 years, and he was my mentor and friend. He served Hotham as our Federal MP for 23 years.

In my first speech in 2013, I paid tribute to Simon Crean's service.

Cheaper child care, cheaper medicines, fee-free TAFE places and more public housing. My government is focussed on providing responsible cost of living relief that doesn't add to inflation.
