Wear Your Voice Thank you for your dedication and perseverance, and your important work. Keeping an independent media outlet like WYV afloat is incredibly difficult and can be exhausting. We are so sad to hear this. Your work will not be forgotten.

For a long time, WYV was the only publication that allowed me to process and analyze entertainment in ways that impacted me and my various communities the most. I’m always going to be grateful for that.

This is truly sad news, so many platforms for marginalized voices are ceasing operations. Running BGIM I get it, it's hard being month to month and not being able to create stronger systems.

This is a really sad day. Wear Your Voice was a great outlet that prioritized and amplified marginalized voices. And it also amplified stories that many other publications wouldn't. One of my first paid pieces was there.

Wow...such a shame. This site actually helped me improve my view on a lot of things and I unlearned other things from them as well. Smh.

WYV was the first pub I ever wrote for as a freelancer and as a reader, I always learn so much! I'm gonna miss this platform. 💔

Nearly a decade of critical, nuanced, thoughtful and necessary journalism.

Thank you WYV for teaching us and staying always aligned with communities struggling for equity and justice. You will be missed!
