I am very much looking forward to this - the line up is excellent (Dr David Nelson, MehtaLab, BuresGroup representing homogeneous catalysis), and the venue superb (@RoySocChem, Burlington House).

...and in a double farewell we will also be saying goodbye at York to Samantha Furfari who is taking up a position at the University of New South Wales, UNSW. Sam and Matt have been a constant in, or associated with, the group since 2019 and will be missed.

A farewell to Matthew Gyton who leaves for his independent position in the Dept. Chem. Uni. Wollongong UOW. Matt is a true master of experimental air-sensitive organometallic chemistry, pictured here in a typical pose. Web-site picture also updated: www-users.york.ac.uk/~asw555/page-4/

Imagine modern synthetic chemistry or catalysis or chemical biology or materials chemistry without NMR spectroscopy. Almost impossible I would say. This open access article shows why having multiple, competing, vendors in NMR is important. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

In the middle of the Yorkshire Wolds stands the Rudstone Monolith, the tallest standing stone on the UK at 27ft (ish). Said to be before 2000BC. The church is Norman and so 3000 years younger!

In my opinion Bookends (sonnysoftware.com/bookends-for-m…) is the very best reference management software for a Mac. It just got better with the ability to forward search on citations to any reference in your library. Basically WoS using your own reference database. Genius and invaluable.

A useful reminder that all authors have a responsibility for the contents and presentation of a manuscript.

Our new paper has been a labour of love so delighted to see it out! We show that strain-promoted cycloadditions can take place in lipid membranes, providing a potentially valuable tool to study membrane proteins, lipid dynamics, and bilayer transport
