PRP dosing matters!

Great paper from Zach Bailowitz MD, RMSK , William Berrigan, MD, RMSK and Team that shows that increased Platelet dose in PRP =better outcomes in knee OA.

Just published. Further RCT data indicating that both PRP and MFAT work for knee OA. However, again, MFAT is not superior to PRP. Because of this study and others, I recommend PRP for knee OA before considering MFAT or BMAC due to cost and ease of use.

Lost a patient in the CICU tonight; she had a massive pulmonary embolism. Code Blue & resuscitation attempts lasted over 2 hours.

She had a history of DVT and was supposed to be on anti-coagulation but hadn’t received her meds “for months” because of insurance authorization.
