Whilst acknowledging extremism and deep divisions amongst people, one can refuse to live life that way.

Culture wars are initiated and fought by fools.

One thing for which many progressives grudgingly admire the Tories used to be their ability to put squabbles aside and coalesce at this point of the electoral cycle.

So, why has discipline broken down in such public and comical ways this time round? I discuss with Tim Bale.

Angela Rayner, challenged by Oliver Dowden over whether Labour will match 2.5% defence spending commitment, says: 'We all want to see 2.5%. The difference is we haven't cut the army to its smallest size since Napoleon'.

70% of 18-24 yr-olds think leaving the EU was a bad idea and of 25-49 yr-olds, 66% also think the UK was wrong to leave.

Why do Rishi Sunak & Keir Starmer ignore this vital segment of the electorate?

The replies to this is exactly why so many professional footballers keep their sexuality private. A wee reminder folk it's 2024, some people prefer their own gender as sexual partners, so what!

This is what happens when ministers and ex ministers undermine the Metropolitan Police as happened last weekend. Fox should be arrested. It is not ok to expect police officers to put up with this.

An honest young copper protecting the public shouldn't have to face this abuse from someone like Laurence Fox Laurence Fox. I wonder if the media will condemn Laurence Fox & his disgusting abusive behaviour or will they blame the young man just doing his job!

Minister: This is rather frustrating.
BBC: I'm just trying to have some clarity-
Minister: Well, you're not going to get that clarity. 😮

Tomlinson seems to think that saying 'respectfully' all the time somehow makes up for being patronising, shouting, and banging the table. ~AA

A brilliant speech from David Anderson. He proposes that the Secretary of State be given an untrammelled power to determine in the future that Rwanda is no longer safe. The Government rejected even that. Rwanda is now deemed “safe” in law in perpetuity irrespective of reality. Mad.

If a Rwanda flight does take off…

Your bills will still be as expensive

Your wait for a GP/hospital bed will still be as long

Your court date will still be as delayed

Your taxes will still be as high

…but we will all be more more morally & financially bankrupt as a nation
