This morning the Friends of Kingswood Park had their new container delivered. This will make a huge difference for them as they now have a safe place to store equipment. ❀️ 🌺 🌳

Today, we remember the fallen in the city's annual Remembrance Sunday service and parade.

All are welcome to join us in St Peter's Square.

The parade sets off from John Dalton Street at 10:25, and will march to the Cenotaph for the Remembrance service.

A two-minute silence will be observed tomorrow, Saturday 11 November, starting at 11am, to mark Armistice Day.

The start and end of the silence will be marked with the firing of a maroon.

Today we celebrated a year of being city. Thanks to great speakers, highlighting many benefits to employers & employees. 282 employers in Mcr paying RLW a rise of 50.8% & 9020 workers had a pay rise as result. Thanks to all who have supported this Living Wage Foundation

We need clean, green, community-owned energy. I just signed this letter from Councillors to the Energy Secretary, backing Labour's Local Power Plan and calling for more investment to power our communities. If you're a councillor, you can sign it too!πŸ‘‡ party.coop/campaign/commu…

Nothing from the Tories in the kings speech today about improving public services, building social and affordable housing, tackling poverty, the cost of living crisis. Nothing about crumbling schools and hospitals

They’ve run out of ideas and they aren’t even trying to hide it.

We’re making progress on installing life-saving defibrillators in south Manchester.

Local groups can apply for a match funding grant of up to Β£750 to help install a publicly accessible defibriliator.

Lovely profile of new cafe Something More Productive. It’s been a massive hit - and rightly so. Delicious food (made from locally sourced produce), and a great atmosphere. Hope Theo (and Roscoe) are a fixture for a long time to come. ❀️πŸ₯ͺ🐢 manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/food-…

Compare and contrast this - and our approach in Greater Manchester - with the Home Secretary and her cruel, sadistic rhetoric. Rhetoric blatantly aimed at Tory members who she wants to vote for her in the next leadership contest.

We are continuing to work hard to reduce rough sleeping, as the latest figures show.πŸ‘‡πŸ»

But the number of people seeking help is rising fast and it is getting more and more difficult.

This is excellent news. Right that the Tory Government has been forced to abandon these closures. They would have had a huge negative impact jobs, and on many older and disabled commuters. This means Mauldeth Road and other stations keep their ticket offices. πŸ‘πŸ» 🚊
