Trends identified from the first 7 games:
1) v big 6 teams from the north, we'll play well and with a bit of luck will get results
2) v other teams in the relegation scrap, we'll play crap but pick up points
3) v teams who contest the A23 'derby', we'll play crap and get nothing

I'm not at the game tonight nor watching a stream.

What has gone wrong tonight? Given the anti-GON feelings on my feed, I assume it's a bad all round performance, rather than a few individual mistakes?

Liverpool playing Joe Gomez in that inverted fullback role is giving Neto so much space when we win the ball back. Surely Klopp will shift that at half time

Brighton remind me of Nuno's Wolves, except we were supremely drilled defensively, and they are super with the ball

Interesting how much of this game has been man for man marking.

What that has meant is that a) when Luke Steele has the ball, we are 4v4 at the back, and b) if we lose a duel (e.g. Semedo v Mitoma), we're in trouble

Just a reminder that Fabio isn'tike the sort of striker we've been used to.

Personally, I'm looking forward to having a forward looking to run in behind the defence. Feels like all of our attackers come deep to collect the ball to feet, hoping Fabio is running the other way

And to add, we outshot United 23-15 tonight. We outshot 5 teams under Lopetegui:
West Ham (H) 17-16
Bournemouth (H) 15-5
Leeds (H) 23-11
Brentford (H) 11-10
Leicester (A) 16-15

It actually reminded me a little of the early Lage games, where we looked really good when we pressed and attacked, but lost 3 out of 3, and then Lage bottled it and retreated to defensive football
