My latest for Al Jazeera English on Frank Hester's racist comments about Diane Abbott MP. I spoke with three Black British women, Dr. Natasha Shotunde, Sophia Moreau and Kimberly McIntosh, who said such racism is retraumatising and it deters Black women from public facing roles.

We're appalled at the violent, misogynistic & racist comments made by Frank Hester.
Black women in politics receive abuse online - both racist & misogynistic. Misogynoir is sadly rife for Black women in public life.
We stand in full solidarity with Diane Abbott MP.
