Our planning group have discussed this in connection with Wisley Village (2.5k houses). All those houses totally dependent on cars.

Clearly the message that we are in an ecological emergency is not getting through.

EVs are heavy and cars are getting bigger. Consumers are given total freedom to choose, and no thought given to air quality or the fact that bigger cars, bigger wheels, kick up a lot more particulate pollution.

- nickel (EVs)

Resource colonialism has been going on for centuries.

Maybe it started with raw materials for houses, then moved to precious minerals and metals, and now its absolutely anything that can be grabbed.

Look at Guinea and you will see how things continues.

Good news in what sense?

Not good news for wildlife.

Not good news for green spaces and ecosystems.

Not good news for emissions.

The Local plan should be adapting to the ECOLOGICAL EMERGENCY. What part of the word emergency, isn't understood?

Clean air day is one month away. If no one says anything, things will continue to get worse, and our politicians will understand that we accept dirty air as a matter of normality.

It is NOT normal to have to suffer asthma attacks, stunted lungs, lung disease, heart disease.

This is no great rocket science. Every day we are depleting the natural world, because the system -built upon patriarchal values - has extracted year after year.

To stop this collapse, we need urgent degrowth.
