Angel Not to mention that participating in work is frankly compulsory so people can afford to not die. The stakes are different.

(And this isn't going into how, even if people are making it to work on time, ADHD often means the ability to perform the job is lagging, if not suffering)

There was no ill will in the questioning but I think itโ€™s important to remember when talking about disability that suggesting thereโ€™s some kind of ulterior motive afoot with symptoms or presentations is a very familiar & painful thing. If youโ€™re frustrated I promise we are too!

workplaces need better accommodations for people with ADHD rather than labelling them as the problem & I expect a lot of relationships do as well. there is a difference between disrespect & devaluing other peopleโ€™s time & the often chronic lateness that comes with ADHD.

I also totally appreciate how frustrating it must feel to be on time and have someone be consistently late. It may just be that the ADHDer letโ€™s themselves relax a bit with friends & not use the same shame/panic tactics they use to get them to work on time. and that = lateness
