Many individuals have different access to diagnostic tests due to cultural, geographic, economic or other reasons, and these factors affect the detection of disease making increased access to diagnostics valuable and important.

Inequity in access has greatly revealed itself in the last 2 years. Health/healthcare inequities occur across a range of dimensions - race, ethnicity, socioeconmic status, age, geography, language, gender, disability status, citizenship status, and sexual identity and orientation

Jasmine Weiss, MD. Dr. Weiss is a second year fellow in the National Clinician Scholar Program at Yale School of Medicine. She is the CEO of Let's Diversifi and is passionate about the intersection of health and education and upward economic mobility of minority communities.

What comes to mind when you think of care at home? Telemedicine, perhaps? Care at home promotes cost-effective healthcare, provides independence autonomy for the patient, and aids in creating an environment that maximizes individual potential.

Next up in our track highlight series is telemedicine. Telemedicine uses computers and other modes of technology to deliver healthcare at a distance. With telemedicine, physicians and caretakers now have the opportunity to provide care to individuals with fewer barriers.

Introducing our first Healthcare Hackathon track: access to information. By increasing access to information we can provide individuals with easy access to their health info in order to provide patient confidence and control in decisions regarding their health and well-being.
