It's odd how some people seem blind to what's happening now. Everyone is in their bubble. You can't really have proper talks about things either, it all becomes too divisive. People don't want to know, they certainly don't want to discuss... Keith Grimley 😃
Mike Yardley The gelding of the UK is almost complete. We’ve been ran by the worst people for decades.
Mike Yardley Absolutely correct, but I'm afraid we lost that 15 years ago. We also send almost all scrap to China and the 'stock' is hugely diminished. We COULD NOT produce enough tanks weapons or ordnance to fight a war and that's been a gradual stealthy tactic against us since 1960.
Mike Yardley I totally agree. It is no use outsourcing everything from abroad. Wars should have taught us this very hard lesson!
The sad thing is I don't think he's wrong... and we're not prepared at all. Russia is pouring a huge proportion of its national resources into war production. Whatever supply issues they've had, they're making up for it. They've tripled military spending. independent.co.uk/news/world/eur…
Britain must retain the capability to make its own steel from scratch. It is a vital part of national defence manufacturing capability. Steelworks capable of recycling scrapped steel are not enough. We must retain the capability to make virgin steel from iron ore. #SteelClosures
