One reason rapidly spreading college protests are being fought exceptionally hard is the 3.5% rule. Historically it takes just 3.5% of a population to challenge the government before it can't resist change. For the US that's about 12 million, there are 18 million college students

palestine isn’t a metaphor. palestine doesn’t exist to ‘free’ you. palestine is not a theory. palestine isn’t a career boost. palestine isn’t a graveyard. palestine isn’t a laboratory. palestine isn’t loveless or desperate or lifeless & neither are palestinians.

As someone whose life was saved countless times by youth workers, youth centres, phenomenal mentors, teachers and olders in my community; as someone who came into liberation practice via workint with young people, I consider it a great honour that we are holding this space.

This song was originally written and sung by Libyan doctor Adel Almshety in 2005 against Gaddafi‘a dictatorship.

It became one of the anthems of the 2011 Arab Spring revolutions. We heard it in Syria and we hear it now in Gaza, a song of defiance, the anthem of the oppressed 🤍
