David Mandel Why women 'don't leave'? See below for example ('Nowhere to turn', Women's Aid Report, 2022) Interesting how, despite such data, we keep convincing ourselves that retreat in the face of severe harm and danger is not only a woman's only option, but her duty. Or else!

Thought this was an April Fool's joke. Is there really a political debate over criminalising the homelessness? A homeless person could be fined or jailed for begging or sleeping in a doorway?
Honestly, what on earth does that actually achieve? thetimes.co.uk/article/fee4bb…

Massively frustrating for me. Croydon had some terrific services and they axed them, stating over and over that they didn't have issues such as gangs. Yet its consistently getting worse and street robberies are a big sign (amongst other things) of co offending group dynamics.

Absolutely gutted to hear about the passing of Richard Taylor, Damilola Taylor's dad. In every capacity I met him, he was humble, genuine, and a powerful advocate of change for young and vulnerable people at risk. He will be missed.

46 times she stood up to speak.
46 times she was ignored.
Yet they were talking about her and what her experiences 'must' have been. She's been spoken over, threatened with violence.
Yet not allowed to speak.
What does that tell you about women and women of colour in our world?

Absolutely. This wasn't some throwaway comment. Those were premeditated words. ABHORRENT words chosen to disgrace a woman of colour. To consider the words largely remain unchallenged because of a paycheck tells us everything we need to know about how far we have yet to go.

Until now, we have known far too little about children on child in need plans.

My new report published today has revealed the huge regional variation in support from children’s social services for some of England’s most vulnerable children.

I am interested to hear my followers' views on this. I think ultimately, it must be down to the charities themselves to decide. We have seen again and again companies using their donations to make themselves more palatable when they commit real action for change.

Hearing about the raising of fines for school absences on How does it help anyone? The families that can afford it will swallow the fine and the families that are already struggling financially will be hit with a fine and court action.
There are better alternatives.

“As young people get older the way people perceive them shifts from being the victims of crime to perpetrators. As a society we need to do more to recognise exploitation before the offer of support turns to punishment”
No one listened to me back in 2019 😪

The word for today is
'where a country's trade and industry are founded on, linked to and dependent directly or indirectly on death and the profits accruing from it.'
There are companies and organisations which have blood on their hands at the cost of our youth

Can't believe the shocking scenes of people queuing down the block for a second day to get access to an Dentist. Yesterday police were called.
Don't you dare blame this is down to a lack of funding.
Can this ever be ok?

Is the power to impose fines really enough when it comes to the Online safety bill? After all water companies can be fined and that doesnt stop them dumping sewage in our rivers. Social media dont enough to protect our young people from misinformation & vioence BBC Breakfast

This. Absolutely this.
It is utter foolishness to think that you can achieve cost savings by cutting services which will hit the most vulnerable first. These are people that will ultimately draw on other services (and create more victims) over time.
