The whole โ€œlayered blockchains / modular blockchainsโ€ narrative with L1s, L2s, L3s; x layer, y layer, etc is probably the worst collective mental block we put on ourselves for the last few years.

It makes us feel itโ€™s all about chains. Have a problem? There must be a missingโ€ฆ

Ye Zhang ๐Ÿ“œ This is likely one of the most uniformed tweets I have ever read. Shame on you & scroll for making such claims with no fundamental understanding

There is good faith criticism - and then there is this.

Reputation is not worth losing for a quick fleeting narrative W

Ye Zhang ๐Ÿ“œ so much wrong info here.

- you do not need to give up admin control
- security council's power is limited, and goal is to continue to limit it further
- you can leave (ease of leaving depends on your verifier, our upcoming new default makes it easy)

This is a common but basic misunderstanding of the AggLayer. Itโ€™s not an L2.

To see why: consider a chain that uses EigenDA for DA, a shared proving marketplace for proof generation, and a shared sequencer/proposer. Would you call this chain an L5?

This isnโ€™t a useful frameworkโ€ฆ

Really impressive results from Irreducible

We have some big plans for Polygonโ€™s ZK chains this year. Excited to continue working with Radi and Jim Posen

We are experimenting with clips again over at Zero Knowledge Podcast

Here is one with Ben Fisch from Espresso Systems with how he understands the concept of a Shared Sequencer

(Quick Note: in the 3 weeks since we recorded this, there has been an active convo about the term)

The memecoin discussion is sort of interesting. It seems like there are three views (worried that I'm going to mid-curve this):

- Memecoin-ad-Absurdum
- Memecoins-as-Culture
- Token Nihilism

This argument notes that regulators have created an environmentโ€ฆ

Proof aggregation services are great - they reduce the cost of ZK proof verification on L1.

The agglayer has a different goal: to aggregate chains and unlock unified liquidity.

In order to have unified liquidity, you need:

(1) Asset fungibility across chains
(2)โ€ฆ

3/ Much was considered: time to production, Ethereum alignment, etc.

Building w/ OP Stack allows a clear path to deploy an L2 w/o compromising Celo community needs ๐Ÿ’›

It's also battle-tested, w/ chains in production & stack compatibility e.g., Polygon | Aggregated's Type 1 ZK Solution ๐Ÿ’œ

Excited for kim d, who has been a really effective member of our team as Chief of Staff.

In retrospect, I wish that we'd hired a chief of staff much earlier at Mir. Being able to focus on building, while at the same time ensuring that you're effectively scaling the org -โ€ฆ

Really nice, well-written note on the ZK-friendliness of Verkle Trees.

Iโ€™ll highlight the point that the proving systems for which Verkle Trees are efficient are unlikely themselves to be as performant in proving the rest of the EVM, so there may be a tradeoff between VTs andโ€ฆ

Getting quick feedback, learning from mistakes, and adjusting quickly is one of the things I love about building in Web3. When a term catches fire quickly itโ€™s hard to move away, but as a stickler for precision myself, I have to agree this one misbrands a major concept in cryptoโ€ฆ

Union is connecting to the AggLayer, plugging IBC chains into an aggregated blockchain network.

Union's integration will enable seamless message passing and asset transfers from IBC chains across all chains connected.

A bit disheartened by the amount of misleading information in here with no pushback from the hosts Santiago R Santos | #9159 Yano ๐ŸŸช

I am compelled to help bring factual clarity (will do my best not to pull a Adam Cochran (adamscochran.eth) style 100+ thread)

People often misconstrue sovereignty to mean independence. That is, chains trying to pool liquidity and incentivize users to stay active on their chain.

I think a better definition of sovereignty is maximizing the range of optionality that a chain has towards attractingโ€ฆ

Completely agree with this.

IMO this is a better way forward for Ethereum to reduce complexity and optimize for ZK performance.
