lawyers haven't had a pay rise for 27 years. Along comes the Illegal Migration Act, and the government announces a 15% fee increase—but ONLY for work related to the Act. It does nothing for access to justice.

I just tried to do TUAG at Arlesey.
Great Northern ignored my text again
The most dysfunctional call ever via Text Relay. No promise of assistance.
Stepped footbridge. No way to get to the correct platform, no signs what to do, and no call point.
No assistance turned up.
Abandoned.

⚖️ “Law Society analysis suggests that the number of civil legal aid providers could drop by a third by 2025.”

President Lubna Shuja tells Law Society Gazette that a 15% uplift is needed to stop from completely vanishing.

Pay from has not changed for 27 years.

It's an emergency situation. Legal aid providers are vanishing because it's simply not affordable to work—this means vanishing .

15% now is bare minimum to save the sector.

Civil has already lost a third of its providers over the past decade. To lose a third of the remainder would be catastrophic for . Recruitment and retention are already at crisis point!

Its not just rates, it's tendering and a recruitment/retention crisis that will destroy the sector. Good legal aid practitioners do so much to make their legal aid contracts work and their reward is often burn out.

This is something we are seeing a lot of across the West Midlands. People's have housing rights and too often they aren't being met until a local law centre intervenes.

If your landlord won't fic your repairs you need to keep as much evidence as possible and continue to try to contact your landlord. You should also speak to your council's private rental team.

Why ticket office are important. As a wheelchair user I decided to book assistance today. I arrive at KGX at 7 for a 7.30 train. I bought a sandwich and the team were ready to put me on a train. At that point the ticket machines do not easily sell GC tickets. So if I didn’t

Your landlord should do repairs within a reasonable amount of time depending on how urgent the problem is.

It's urgent if the damage puts people who live at the property at risk of serious harm. If it’s an emergency Landlord's should fix it within 24 hours.

Discrimination isn’t always obvious. Microaggressions often take the form of casual comments, stereotyping, questioning or undermining your lived experience, it build up and have a big impact. If you're experiencing this at work, get in touch.
