I lost my right hand in a horrific attack on March 7th, 2015, when I was just about 6.

My mother, Prisca Shaaban, also got badly hurt.

I canโ€™t begin to describe the pain I felt at losing my arm. My life has not been the same since.

One of the biggest obstacles we face is discrimination.

People often treat us differently because of our unique appearance. This discrimination is manifested through exclusion from social activities, and denied access to education.

Close your eyes: try to imagine you are a child with albinism.

Then, imagine people surrounding you, some are pointing fingers at you, calling you degrading names, some are laughing at you, some are pinching you, others are running away in fear.

Then, open your eyes.
