People often treat us differently because of our unique appearance. This discrimination is manifested through exclusion from social activities, and denied access to education.

We commend the Committee for its report released in 2015 on the situation of children with albinism in Tanzania.

It is a reference document used by the Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition to engage the government on the implementation of the Committee's recommendations.

Institutionalization of children with albinism has detrimental effects, affecting their development and right to grow up in a family environment.
