CPC Provincial Party School in Jilin is a pretty wonderful building and institution. We had a great lecture and discussion there on high-quality development and the revitalisation of the Northeast (which has traditionally been China's industrial heartland).

Siping, Jilin. Lovely little city in the Northeast, population under 2 million. Site of a series of crucial battles in the Chinese Civil War, so the place is steeped in revolutionary culture. Interesting time at the Siping Battle Memorial Hall, and really enjoyed walking round
