With GCSE exams starting next week, today, our year 11 students received a range of messages and letters from parents, carers, siblings and members of staff. We wanted to remind them how proud we are and that they are ready to smash the next six weeks! #achieve24

I regret to inform you that this terrible resource has been designed, seemingly, to make it harder to keep children safe in a school where they can learn and thrive.

Perhaps the Children’s Society could have produced a report that centred the voices of the students in schools who have been harassed and bullied - rather than the voices of the harassers and the bullies.

But perhaps I’m missing the point. Who knows?

It has been wonderful to see how whole school poetry by heart has become part of the culture at Woodfields this year. To see Yr 7 Co2030 recite Invictus at the end of the day is something special.

I find this sort of ‘article’ deeply disappointing!

It requires MASSIVE energy and RELENTLESS positivity to work in complex schools.

Teachers and leaders that CHOOSE to work in difficult contexts are part of the solution and deserve cheerleading and support, not this!

Lots of tasty goodies were on sale this week in our bake sale organised by the Student Council. Thanks to everyone who contributed - the funds will go towards plants, picnic tables and other projects for our school!

I’m delighted that Julie Atkins led the introduction of learning poetry by heart. We can now recite poetry that speaks to our values. Because we have internalised it, we can recite with meaning and feeling. Our new drama club has done something very special with Invictus.
