I'm not a big fan of productivity hacks, I think the best thing you can do it just sit down, focus, and work on your shit. But I've been doing something for a couple of years now that has been life changing for me as someone running a medium sized lab, here's a 🧡about it 1/

if you're still alive?!, I need recommendations!

I'm aiming to set up a UX research/Data reading group in work. I need punchy, compelling and short methods based papers. Thinking of starting with 'What is your Estimand', any other tips?

Thank you so much for your orders! Posters are heading to destinations on 5 continents! Any interest from Africa/Antarctica? My offer lives for 1 more week: if you retweet this post, I will put your name in a hat, and draw a winner, and paint one bird from the poster for you.

Check out this The Guardian article on our soil acoustics project and the work we have been doing over the last year. Very cool collaborating with Jackie Stroud on this!

Would be useful at some point to compare how different disciplines have fallen in and out of love with instrumental variables. A method invented by a biologist, usually associated with economists, that deserves its own interdisciplinary cautionary literature at this point

Important new study on the dependence of crops on such as by Catarina Siopa et al. Take home: previous studies have under-estimated the role of pollinators for agricultural production - they are even more vital than we realised!

We have 2 CREEMinals Tiago AndrΓ© Marques and Danielle Harris at the IWC Scientific Committee in Bled as well as several former CREEMinals as Dr. Leslie New and millerdl at mathstodon dot xyz Great to see how some of the methods we work on are used for generating abundance estimates ultimately driving management.

We use 30 year averages to show climatology (average weather conditions). During the 20th century the UK climatology followed a path around a confined box. With and they have escaped out the box. This shows UK rainfall and temperature.
