#statstwitter if you're still alive?!, I need recommendations!
I'm aiming to set up a UX research/Data reading group in work. I need punchy, compelling and short methods based papers. Thinking of starting with 'What is your Estimand', any other tips?

If you want to survive in academia or research you have to learn to say NO. There are so many opportunities that will 'look good on your cv'. Easy to burn out.

Check out this The Guardian article on our soil acoustics project and the work we have been doing over the last year. Very cool collaborating with Jackie Stroud on this!
Important new study on the dependence of crops on #pollinators such as #bees by Catarina Siopa et al. Take home: previous studies have under-estimated the role of pollinators for agricultural production - they are even more vital than we realised!

We have 2 CREEMinals Tiago AndrΓ© Marques and Danielle Harris at the IWC Scientific Committee in Bled as well as several former CREEMinals as Dr. Leslie New and millerdl at mathstodon dot xyz Great to see how some of the methods we work on are used for generating abundance estimates ultimately driving management.

We use 30 year averages to show climatology (average weather conditions). During the 20th century the UK climatology followed a path around a confined box. With #globalwarming and #climatechange they have escaped out the box. This #dataviz shows UK rainfall and temperature.
