Reasons why I go on a solo camping trip at least once annually...

My biggest grant to date was brainstormed in a tent during a huge rain storm. I filled the tent with sticky notes as ideas flowed... inc the incredible people I hoped to collaborate with on the project.

Very important steps in better supporting graduate students and postdoctoral researchers with better funded scholarships and fellowships.

Important next steps will be to raise equity for the rest of students who are supported by research grants.

With another semester ending, here's your annual reminder that teaching evaluations systemically disadvantage women. Even when controlling for grades and other factors, students (esp. males) consistently give female professors lower scores. This can have serious ramifications.🧵
