What happens when a former large animal vet (Meghan Davis ), a virologist (@andrewpekosz ) and a communications/podcaster/author (@sdesmon ) find each other in a zoom room? Well we discuss avian influenza infections in dairy cows of course!

Navigating viral infections isn't as automatic as sinking a smooth 3-pointer during March Madness. 🏀

Stay informed on COVID rebounds as you finalize your brackets, because just like in basketball, rebounds can happen unexpectedly.

Always a pleasure to talk with Stephanie Desmon and the Public Health On Call crew. This really is a transition time for COVID-19 - cases aren't surging like during the first few years of the pandemic, but we know it is still a source of many hospitalizations and deaths.

“We do not see COVID-19 reach the same low levels as influenza and RSV during the late spring and summer,” says Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at JHSPH's @AndrewPekosz.

“There is going to be a risk of getting COVID-19 year-round.”

COVD-19 home tests are a good surrogate for 'infectiousness' and I firmly believe that a negative rapid antigen test should be the marker for resuming normal activities - and that return to activities include masks and social distancing for several days.

Really great podcast on the current situation with measles virus outbreaks. Completely preventable disease here in the US with many short and long term consequences.
