I see some politicians praying in aid of the wood fuel heat ban in new build, the health concerns around particulates. That is indeed a legitimate concern. So please follow the logic and push for a ban of ALL wood fuel systems in built up areas. I won’t hold my breath

If the problem is holiday/2nd homes (which I think it is), then a STL control zone will acheive nothing because holiday/2nd homes dont need planning consent for change of use and will not in future. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Using 2023 figures, if all new houses in the Highlands and Islands burnt wood for domestic heat rather than used a heat pump, CO2e emissions from wood burning heating would be 88% lower than the heat pump system.
