I’m thinking about ‘anchors’ and ‘hosts’ today

One is heavy and one is light

An anchor doesn’t grow roots it just pins things down

I’m glad we are thinking more about mycelium

There’s a kind of hosting too that really matters … & a long term commitment that’s deeper, humbler, more respectful, ecological & community led than any of the programmes we’ve encountered thus far..

One of the things I’ve my eye on right now .. is the idea of service .. and motivation for serving .. and how this impacts on the way we show up in community life

Servicing an ego

My other eye is on solidarity & noticing what’s distinct

These days we see community led being used when in reality it’s coproduction or engagement

We can now play spot the clothes we used to own in the community 😂

I’m particularly struc by the way so many people have got involved, that’s because Angela & Gill do so much across the entire neughbourhood, are keenly aware of the gifts & energies people have.
They set the tone for what seems so warm, open & friendly.

Also the development of children’s confidence through the process of working with Media Cubs 🐾 & interviewing/story telling skills & launching their own crowdfunding campaign.

It’s the opposite of thinking ‘there’s nothing to do, I feel so alone, nobody cares, my ideas are rubbish’
Places like the Playbox & their CommUnity Corner (shop) are all about holding space

Matilda wanted an amazing ‘spinning glowing’ roundabout next to the Playbox. One which had swimming pools, buttons for sunshine, a surfboard & the King & Queen would show up and say ‘this is a super dooper Playbox’
