We Whitney M. Young HS #GlobalCitizenship removed 7,294 pieces of litter yesterday and this morning. Thanks to MarineDebrisTracker Nat Geo Education, we are now analyzing the data to develop solutions to decrease the litter, mostly #PlasticPolution in the area.

Merci NaTakallam. We learned from refugees all over the world. Their❤️ of their country of origin’s culture, it’s history, so much. Here, Samba engaged us with hardships in Mali, life in Egypt, and resettlement in France. Students enjoyed learning they play the same video games!

We participated in 2 Tony Blair Institute for Global Change Generation Global video conferences this week with students from India, Indonesia, Colombia, Mexico & Afghanistan. 1st conference we explored topic of poverty. 2nd conference focus was hate speech. #GlobalCitizenship

We Whitney M. Young HS enjoyed experiencing the verdant green & cascading falls of Barron Gorge National Park. We Whitney M. Young HS are LOVING experiencing Māori culture. Before ceremony & hāngī began, Māori men arriving in traditional canoes, symbolizing their ancestors arrival to Aotearoa (Māori name of New Zealand) from Polynesia 600 yrs ago. EF Educational Tours
