We Whitney M. Young HS #GlobalCitizenship removed 7,294 pieces of litter yesterday and this morning. Thanks to MarineDebrisTracker Nat Geo Education, we are now analyzing the data to develop solutions to decrease the litter, mostly #PlasticPolution in the area.
My heart is overflowing w gratitude. Thank you Nasreen Local Women's Handicrafts for sharing your story as a survivor of modern slavery/fast fashion factory worker at age 10 to 300+ Whitney M. Young HS students. Your Fair Trade Campaigns Fair Trade Federation advocacy is saving thousands of kids from being exploited.

Merci NaTakallam. We learned from refugees all over the world. Their❤️ of their country of origin’s culture, it’s history, so much. Here, Samba engaged us with hardships in Mali, life in Egypt, and resettlement in France. Students enjoyed learning they play the same video games!

We participated in 2 Tony Blair Institute for Global Change Generation Global video conferences this week with students from India, Indonesia, Colombia, Mexico & Afghanistan. 1st conference we explored topic of poverty. 2nd conference focus was hate speech. #GlobalCitizenship

We Whitney M. Young HS enjoyed experiencing the verdant green & cascading falls of Barron Gorge National Park. Learned about the deep spiritual connection that Djabugandji & other First Nations Peoples still maintain with this land from Cloud who shared his wisdom with us. #Australia EF Educational Tours
Our Whitney M. Young HS #DolphinDestinations group had a great time learning about koalas, kangaroos, Tasmanian devils & dingos at Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia today!
We Whitney M. Young HS are LOVING experiencing Māori culture. Before ceremony & hāngī began, Māori men arriving in traditional canoes, symbolizing their ancestors arrival to Aotearoa (Māori name of New Zealand) from Polynesia 600 yrs ago. EF Educational Tours
Our student field trip to New Zealand started this morning with a visit to a Māori village in Rotorua. We learned about their rich culture and the many ways geothermal springs are utilized. EF Educational Tours #DolphinDestinations
