Youngkin just VETOED the Right to BIRTH CONTROL Act. But he did so in a sneaky way:

He did so on a Friday night to sneak it by the press.

Why

Despite hearing from literally thousands of Virginians in support of their right to contraception, the Governor chose to stick with the most extreme faction of his party to prevent a legal right to contraception in Virginia. Here's the statement from Ghazala Hashmi and me

Really appreciated Arlington County Bar Association's community education program tonight for Mental Health Awareness Month. Very informative and important discussion about civil commitment proceedings. We need more community-based services to ensure individuals can receive follow-up treatment.

Fact: Kiggans voted for the Default on America Act, which would reduce veterans' medical care and their benefits

Fact: The bill would cut $ for childcare and other programs

Fact: It would repeal tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act, raising energy bills for families

There is ample research that shows that Medicaid Expansion is literally saving lives. See graphic below for one example.

Right now we have over 655k Virginians signed up under the expansion and over 26k folks from Henrico.

I think they’d beg to differ.
