Thought I'd check back in. Been away from here for a while. Needed to detox from the negativity that is unfortunately in plague proportions here since that dickhead set fire to the place to watch it burn. Not sure how long I'll be here.

I've missed the good, but not the bad.

I hope the potential scandal of Jacinta Price and Peter Dutton lobbying - including through their media arm News Corp - for $12 million for independent Indigenous school where Price’s mother Bess works is not going to be swept under the carpet. Where are the watchdogs in media?

The media had months to debunk the misinformation about the voice. Now at the 11th hour they realise that they enabled and grossly proliferated profound mistruths, fanning the flames of division. While I admire Rove's sentiment, it seems too little too late.

Regardless of the outcome, the time for talk around the gross inequities and disparities in health, education and incarceration rates for First Nations people has to stop.

For too long governments have neglected them and the need for structural reform.

We must act.
