I am dismayed by the decision taken by the NGO Bureau to “halt” the work of #SAYNOTOHOMOPHOBIA | SMUG🏳️‍🌈. Government should be safeguarding the freedom of assembly and association for the LGBTQ+ community guaranteed in the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, not undermining them Ministry of Internal Affairs Uganda

Government of Uganda shutting down SMUG is outrageous. U.S. Mission Uganda must speak out in support of the rights and freedoms of all Ugandans, including LGBTIQ+.

U.S. Ambassador to Uganda, President Biden promised to fight for LGBTIQ+ rights everywhere. Now is the time to deliver.
