Carol Folt has ordered another police sweep of USC’s Solidarity Encampment, sending 100+ militarized cops to arrest students. This time, the press is being illegally restricted from documenting the university’s and LAPD’s abuse of power.

The idea that the government should ban citizens from accessing foreign media because of its (purported) viewpoint is totally inconsistent with the most basic democratic and free-speech principles. This is a practice that has long been associated with the most repressive regimes.

'It is during difficult times that the freedom of speech is most vital and also most vulnerable to restriction,' the letter read.
