While I’ve enjoyed a lot of mainstream content recently - Bodies Bodies Bodies, Watcher (Okuno), Barbarian, The Viewing (Cosmatos), Smile - for example; the most engrossing watch has been, hands down, hours of news footage of the Brooks V Wisconsin Trial. Iykyk

Calm with Horses, which in the US has a different name, was a very enjoyable film. I loved ALL the actors.
Barry Keoghan done been great so no surprise there. But Cosmo Jarvis and Niamh Algar are recent discoveries and they are also fantastiche! 🤌❤️

Copshop is pretty dope and Alexis Louder owns. Shout out to Frank Grillo🙌

Bacurau - this Brazilian gem is completely off the chain. Immersive, vibey and unpredictable
And it features Lunga who is now one of my all time favorite film characters.

Wrath of Man - some nice sound design and artful shots. Does the job.

Spiral - Rock made me LOL

Promising Young Woman - poignant, edgy and original. Great chemistry (or should I say rapport) between Mulligan and Burnham.
Who knew he was a solid actor?

Sound of Metal - amazing. Loved it. Powerful and authentic.

Oxygen - surprisingly satisfying

RIP Humpty Hump.
Digital Underground was a great companion and inspiration to me during some formative years. Sex Packets blew my mind.
And Humpty Dance will always be my jam.

Films I’ve seen lately

Possessor - excellent film. Not for the faint of heart. On par with Martyrs and Irreversible in terms of brutality. But it’s great. Thought provoking.

The Nest - awesome film.

Greenland - well-executed all around but kinda felt like propaganda.

I saw a film called “The Load” by Ognjen Glavonić.
The pacing is quite relaxed, you could say; but it’s fantastic. I loved it.

A man whose entire life was built on a rich blend of daddy’s money and financial fraud accuses me, daughter of a house cleaner who won multiple elections to Congress by the age of 30, of not having talent. 🤣

You can tell from his delivery that even HE doesn’t believe it. 😂

For those who grew up in awe of Michael Jordan as i did, but who, like myself, never really felt they knew the man, I would recommend The Last Dance. It’s a revelation. And the end of episode 7 is a moment of such emotional impact that I felt the urge to tweet about it. Wow. 😮👍

The world lost a truly special individual with the passing of Chynna Rogers. Chynna
She was a great talent and a beautiful soul. RIP
I wish she could have stayed.
