Excited to see the final version out eLife - the journal. A long journey since the 1st draft as we ran experiments to test new model's predictions. Thanks to reviewers whose comments made it a better paper!

No particular shade on this editor but this is an anachronistic policy that makes the publisher look petulant, desperate, and painfully out of touch. It’s clear why this is the case but the clock is ticking on how long this can persist

I've never met anyone with this same opinion but I think the BBC licence is great value for money. My son loves CBeebies, I love 6 Music and the Sounds app is full of great podcasts. Really don't see why others don't see it.

Can't agree more! I had a good experience with eLife's new publishing model. It is efficient, time-saving, public, and with high-quality peer reviews.

A few days ago, the journal eLife published a self-study on the first year of its new publishing model, and it is well worth a look. Here are some notes based on my own experience with the journal as author and reviewing editor: markusmeister.com/2024/03/17/a-y….

Currently have a paper under review at eLife - the journal. The process has been quick yet thorough and really constructive for the quality of the manuscript. Can only recommend!

Data from the first year of our new approach to publishing!! In brief, we are still seeing the same quantity and caliber of papers. But the process feels much more constructive. For Editors, and for authors.
