Sidewalks define a city, its people and their soul. Promote better and safer pedestrians facilities around KL and all cities in Malaysia. We are all pedestrians

March 21, 1977. In S. Ozone Park, Queens, children walking to and from PS 121 and St Teresa of Avila school had to cross 109th Ave. Near the scene of a seven-year-old boy’s death, pedestrians blocked traffic to demand safer conditions for people on foot.

Think about this...

If we build roads and highways the same way we build sidewalks and pedestrian facility, nobody would drive.

Nobody could even drive.

Japanese train stations have a long tradition in widely supporting disabled people. Recently they turned to smartphone apps to make their services more accessible and synchronized for passengers that use wheelchairs.

Wanting to walk is human.

Not wanting to walk is also human (don't want to argue here).

But making it difficult for people to walk is evil.

The first middlewalk in Wg Maju. No sidewalk but middlewalk. Now you have to make few dangerous crosses left and right between your destinations.

It is not safe but we just want to be first. Good luck.

When Canadian traffic engineer Paul Roer called for the removal of many stop signs and other pedestrian protections on grounds that they gave walkers “a false sense of security,” thereby encouraging confident walking and delaying drivers, traffic engineer Morris Rotman objected.

The first sky bridge in Wangsa Maju?
We seem to be obsessed with and prioritise secondary development. The first priority should be sidewalks.

How about we build the biggest public toilet in the world here in KL. With 500 toilet bowls inside (don't promise the cleanest though)

We have highest approved investment,
Our stock market is up,
We aim zero poverty,
We have climate change target,
We only tell the story we want to tell.

Ever wonder why your community can get $58 million for an overpass on the edge of town, but can’t seem to get a simple crosswalk painted?

We're looking at solution first and then problem. How do we reduce obesity if we park our cars in front of diner's table without wanting to walk a single step.

The solution is walkable city. All agencies MOH, MOT, DBKL etc must walk (err work) together.

For comparison, this is how the Dutch Prime Minister gets to work. No motorized escorts. Using the same safe cycling public infrastructure normal citizens also use.
